St. Valentin, also known as Valentine, was a Roman priest who lived during the 3rd century AD. He was martyred on February 14th, around the year 269 AD, along the Flaminian Way in Rome. Valentin was known for his kindness and compassion, often helping those in need. He was arrested and executed by order of the Roman Emperor Claudius II for performing Christian marriages, which were banned at the time. Valentin is venerated as the patron saint of love, engaged couples, and happy marriages.
