Anne Catherine Emmerich

Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich was a German Augustinian nun and mystic, born in 1774. She became known for her visions of the lives of Jesus and Mary, as well as her stigmata and spiritual insights. Her revelations, documented by Clemens Brentano, have influenced Christian devotion and inspired various works. Beatified in 2004 by Pope John Paul II, she remains an important figure for those devoted to the Passion of Christ.
