St. Sixtus I, Pope
St. Sixtus I was the Bishop of Rome from around 115 to 125 AD. He was the sixth pope in the history of the Catholic Church. During his papacy, Sixtus made important contributions to the development of the liturgy and the administration of the early Christian community. He is venerated for his piety and leadership during a challenging time for the Church. Sixtus I is the patron saint of goldsmiths and silversmiths.
