Saint Jacqueline, widow of Assisi

Saint Jacqueline, widow of Assisi, also known as Jacoba dei Settesoli, was a noblewoman of Rome and a close friend and benefactress of Saint Francis of Assisi. She supported the Franciscan movement with generosity and spiritual devotion. Saint Francis affectionately called her 'Brother Jacoba' due to her deep involvement in the community. She was present at his death and brought the almond treats he requested on his deathbed.
