Jeremiah

Jeremiah

St. Jeremiah was a prominent prophet in the Old Testament, active during the final decades of the Kingdom of Judah. He was born around 650 BC and died around 570 BC. Jeremiah prophesied the destruction of Jerusalem and the Babylonian exile, urging the people to repent and submit to Babylonian rule. He was persecuted for his unpopular messages but continued to speak God's word. Jeremiah is venerated for his courage, steadfastness, and devotion to the Lord. He is the patron saint of religious workers and the patron of the Archdiocese of Lima, Peru.
