Saint Alda, virgin of Siena
Saint Alda was a laywoman and mystic who lived in Siena, Italy, during the 13th century. Despite being married and later widowed, she devoted herself to a life of prayer and charity. Known for her mystical experiences and acts of penance, she was admired for her humility and devotion to Christ. Saint Alda died in 1309, and her memory is honored on May 2.
