Sts. Gervasius and Protasius, Martyrs of Milan
Saints Gervasius and Protasius were twin brothers who were early Christian martyrs of Milan, Italy. They lived in the 1st century AD and were put to death for their faith under the Roman emperor Nero. Gervasius and Protasius refused to renounce their Christian beliefs and were brutally tortured and killed. Their relics were later discovered by St. Ambrose, the bishop of Milan, who promoted their veneration. The brothers are considered patron saints of Milan and are invoked for protection against storms and sudden death.
