Saint Dionysius, bishop of Paris
Saint Dionysius, bishop of Paris, was a third-century missionary and the first bishop of Paris. He was sent from Italy to Gaul to evangelize and spread Christianity, facing intense persecution under the Roman Empire. Dionysius was eventually martyred, traditionally by beheading on Montmartre. He is venerated as the patron saint of Paris and is renowned for his steadfast faith and courage.
