Saint Clement

Saint Clement

St. Clement I was the fourth Pope of the Catholic Church, serving from around 88 to 99 AD. He was born in Rome and is considered one of the Apostolic Fathers, having known the apostles personally. During his papacy, he worked to unite the Christian community and is known for his epistle to the Corinthians, which is one of the earliest written documents outside the New Testament. Clement was martyred for his faith and his relics are venerated in the Basilica of St. Clement in Rome. He is the patron saint of marble workers, mechanics, and sailors.
