Saint Julius, pope

Saint Julius, pope, was the 35th pope of the Roman Catholic Church, serving from 337 to 352. He is known for supporting Saint Athanasius against the Arians during the Arian controversy. Julius upheld orthodox doctrine and provided refuge to persecuted bishops. His pontificate contributed to the strengthening of papal authority in the early Church.
