Saint Mario, Persian martyr
Saint Mario, a Persian nobleman, was a Christian martyr who lived in the third century. Along with his wife Saint Martha and their two sons, Saints Audifax and Abachum, he travelled to Rome to venerate the tombs of the martyrs. While in Rome, he and his family assisted persecuted Christians and buried the bodies of those who had suffered for their faith. They were arrested under Emperor Claudius II, tortured, and executed for refusing to renounce their Christianity.
