Saint Odilo, abbot of Cluny
Saint Odilo, abbot of Cluny, led the influential Benedictine monastery of Cluny from 994 to 1049. He is remembered for his reforms in monastic life and deep concern for the poor. Odilo instituted the annual commemoration of All Souls’ Day, fostering prayer for the dead throughout the Western Church. His leadership contributed significantly to the spiritual renewal of his era.
