Saint Fabian
Pope St. Fabian was the Bishop of Rome from 236 to 250 AD. He is venerated as a martyr for the Catholic Church, having been executed during the persecution of Christians under the Roman Emperor Decius. Fabian is believed to have been of Roman origin and was elected pope by divine intervention, with a dove landing on his head during the election. As pope, he organized the Roman Church into seven regions and appointed seven deacons to administer them. Fabian also sent missionaries to evangelize various parts of the Roman Empire. He is the patron saint of wildlife and the environment.
