Saint Sebastian
St. Sebastian was a Roman soldier and Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd century AD. He was born in Narbonne, France, and served as a captain in the Praetorian Guard under Roman Emperor Diocletian. When his Christian faith was discovered, he was sentenced to death by being tied to a tree and shot with arrows. Though left for dead, he survived and was nursed back to health. He later confronted the emperor and was clubbed to death. St. Sebastian is the patron saint of athletes, archers, and those who desire a saintly death.
