Saint Anastasius, martyr of Persia
Saint Anastasius, martyr of Persia, was a Persian soldier who converted to Christianity after being moved by the witness of Christian martyrs. He became a monk and lived a life of prayer and penance. During a wave of persecution against Christians, he was arrested, tortured, and ultimately beheaded for refusing to renounce his faith. His courage inspired many conversions even after his death.
