Angela Merici
St. Angela Merici was born in 1474 in Desenzano, Italy. At a young age, she became a member of the Third Order of St. Francis and devoted her life to caring for the sick and poor. In 1535, she founded the Company of St. Ursula, the first teaching congregation for women in the Catholic Church. She was known for her wisdom, compassion, and dedication to education. St. Angela Merici is the patron saint of sick people, disability, the disabled, and loss of parents.
