Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows, Passionist

Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows was an Italian Passionist student known for his devotion to the Virgin Mary and his spirit of sacrifice. Born Francesco Possenti in 1838, he entered the Passionist order as a young man. His short life was marked by holiness, humility, and cheerfulness even during illness. He died of tuberculosis at age 24 and is patron of youth and students.
