Saint Joseph

Saint Joseph

St. Joseph was the husband of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the foster father of Jesus. Though the Bible does not record his birth or death dates, tradition holds that he was a carpenter by trade and died before Jesus' public ministry began. Venerated for his role in the Holy Family, St. Joseph is regarded as the patron saint of the Universal Church, workers, and a happy death. He is often depicted holding the infant Jesus or working with tools, representing his role as a protector and provider.
