St. Catherine of Sweden, Virgin, Daughter of St. Bridget
St. Catherine of Sweden (1331-1381) was the daughter of St. Bridget, the renowned mystic and foundress of the Brigittine Order. She was born in Sweden and, like her mother, dedicated her life to spiritual pursuits. Catherine accompanied her mother on pilgrimages to Rome and the Holy Land, and after Bridget's death, she continued her mother's work, founding a convent in Vadstena, Sweden. Catherine is venerated for her piety, humility, and commitment to the Church. She is the patron saint of Sweden, widows, and victims of abuse.
