Saint Walter, abbot of Pontoise
Saint Walter, abbot of Pontoise, was a Benedictine monk who became the first abbot of the monastery at Pontoise, near Paris, in the 11th century. He was highly respected for his dedication to monastic reform and personal holiness. Despite repeatedly trying to resign his office due to his humility, he was compelled by the Pope to continue his leadership.
