Blessed Ludovica
Blessed Ludovica, also known as St. Lydwine of Schiedam, was a Dutch mystic and visionary born in the late 14th century. She suffered from a severe illness after an ice-skating accident, offering her sufferings for others and developing a reputation for holiness. Through years of pain and prayer, she received the stigmata and other mystical graces. She is venerated as the patroness of the chronically ill and those suffering from pain.
