Saint Valerian, martyr of Rome
Saint Valerian, martyr of Rome, was a Christian who suffered martyrdom in the early centuries of the Church. He is believed to have been the husband of Saint Cecilia and was baptized along with his brother-in-law, Tiburtius, by Pope Urban I. Valerian remained steadfast in his faith and endured persecution rather than renounce Christianity. His courage inspired others to follow Christ.
