Paulinus of Nola

St. Paulinus of Nola was a prominent figure in the Catholic Church during the 5th century. Born around 353 AD in Bordeaux, France, he lived a life of wealth and privilege before converting to Christianity in his thirties. He later became the bishop of Nola, Italy, and was known for his generosity, humility, and devotion to the poor. Paulinus wrote extensively, including poems, letters, and theological works. He is venerated for his role in promoting the cult of St. Felix and for his contributions to the development of Christian hymnody. Paulinus is the patron saint of Nola and is invoked for protection against fever.
