St. Veronica Giuliani, Abbess, Capuchin Poor Clare

St. Veronica Giuliani was a 17th-century Italian Capuchin Poor Clare nun and mystic. Born in 1660 in Mercatello sul Metauro, she entered religious life at the age of 17 and later became the abbess of her convent. She was known for her deep devotion to Christ's Passion and received the stigmata, the wounds of Christ. Veronica was declared a saint in 1839 and is venerated as a patron of those with eating disorders and of religious sisters.
