Sts. Anatolia and Victoria, Martyrs

Sts. Anatolia and Victoria, Martyrs

Saints Anatolia and Victoria were third-century Christian martyrs who were put to death for their faith in Rome. Anatolia was a young woman from a noble Roman family, while Victoria was her servant and close friend. The two were arrested and condemned to die for refusing to renounce their Christian beliefs. They were scourged, tortured, and eventually beheaded around the year 250 AD under the Roman emperor Decius. Anatolia and Victoria are venerated as models of unwavering faith and are patron saints of those suffering from eye diseases.
