Saint Maria de Jesus Sacramentado, foundress of the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Saint Maria de Jesus Sacramentado was born Maria Natividad Venegas de la Torre in 1868 in Mexico. She dedicated her life to serving the sick and poor, especially through nursing. In 1921, she founded the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a religious congregation focused on hospital ministry and care for the needy. She was canonized in 2000 by Pope John Paul II and is remembered for her deep prayer life and compassion.
