Sts. Abdon and Sennen, Martyrs
Saints Abdon and Sennen were two Persian noblemen who were martyred in Rome during the persecution of Christians under the Roman Emperor Decius in 250 AD. They were arrested and tortured for refusing to renounce their Christian faith. After being forced to watch the execution of other Christians, they were themselves beheaded. Abdon and Sennen are venerated as martyrs and are invoked against pestilence.
