Saint Cassian of Imola
St. Cassian was a Christian martyr who lived in the 4th century AD. He was a schoolmaster in the Italian city of Imola and was known for his piety and dedication to teaching. During the persecution of Christians under the Roman Emperor Julian the Apostate, Cassian was arrested and ordered to renounce his faith. When he refused, he was condemned to death and executed by his own students, who stabbed him to death with their writing styli. Cassian is venerated as a martyr for his unwavering faith and is the patron saint of teachers and schoolchildren.
