St. Synforianus, Martyr of Autun
Saint Synforianus was a Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd century in the city of Autun, France. He was executed for his faith during the persecution of Christians under the Roman Emperor Aurelian. Synforianus refused to make sacrifices to the pagan gods and was sentenced to death. He was flogged, imprisoned, and ultimately beheaded. Synforianus is venerated as a patron saint of Autun and is invoked for protection against injustice and unjust persecution.
