Rose of Lima
St. Rose of Lima (1586-1617) was a member of the Dominican Order and the first Catholic saint of the Americas. Born in Lima, Peru, she was known for her deep devotion to Christ and her acts of charity and penance. Rose embraced a life of seclusion and austerity, rejecting marriage and taking a vow of virginity. She is venerated for her mystical experiences, including visions of Christ and the Blessed Mother. St. Rose is the patroness of Latin America, the Philippines, and all of the Americas.
