Saint Charles Spinola, martyr of Japan
Saint Charles Spinola was an Italian Jesuit priest born in 1564. He dedicated his life to missionary work and traveled to Japan to spread the Christian faith. Despite severe persecution of Christians, he remained steadfast in his ministry. Arrested for his faith, he endured years of imprisonment and was burned alive in Nagasaki in 1622, witnessing to Christ to the end.
