Saint Cyprian, bishop of Carthage
Saint Cyprian, bishop of Carthage, was a prominent third-century Christian writer and leader in North Africa. Converted to Christianity as an adult, he was appointed bishop of Carthage around 249 AD. He was known for his theological works and his guidance of the Christian community during times of persecution. Cyprian was martyred during the Valerian persecution in 258 AD.
