St. Simeon, Earl of Crépy
St. Simeon, Earl of Crépy, was a French nobleman who lived in the 11th century. Born around 1020, he was the son of the Count of Crépy. After a life of wealth and privilege, he experienced a profound spiritual transformation and decided to devote himself to a life of prayer and service. He founded a monastery and became a Benedictine monk, eventually being ordained as a priest. Simeon was known for his humility, asceticism, and deep devotion to God. He died on September 30, 1082, and was later canonized by the Catholic Church.
