Longinus
Saint Longinus is traditionally identified as the Roman centurion who pierced the side of Jesus Christ with a lance during the Crucifixion. After witnessing the events at Calvary, he is said to have converted to Christianity. Longinus became a martyr for his faith and is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church. He is often depicted holding a spear, symbolizing his role at the Crucifixion.
