St. Maria Bertilla Boscardin, Virgin of Vicenza
St. Maria Bertilla Boscardin was a Catholic nun born in 1888 in Brendola, Italy. She joined the Sisters of St. Dorothy in 1904 and dedicated her life to caring for the sick and elderly. During World War I, she courageously served as a nurse, even while under bombardment. She is remembered for her deep spirituality, humility, and compassion. Beatified in 1952 and canonized in 1961, she is the patron saint of nurses and hospital administrators.
