Saint Wendelin
Saint Wendelin was a German hermit and abbot who lived in the 6th or 7th century. He is venerated as the patron saint of herdsmen and farmers. According to tradition, he renounced noble birth to live as a hermit near Saarland, Germany, and later became abbot of a local monastery. His humility and dedication inspired rural communities, who continue to honor him. His shrine in St. Wendel, Germany, is a popular pilgrimage destination.
