Saint Simon the Apostle

Saint Simon the Apostle

Saint Simon the Apostle, often called Simon the Zealot or Simon the Canaanite, was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ. Not much is known about his life, but tradition holds that he zealously spread the Gospel after Pentecost, possibly traveling to Egypt, Persia, or other distant lands. He is often depicted with Saint Jude Thaddeus, as their feast days are shared. Saint Simon is venerated as a martyr who gave his life for Christ.
