Saint Ermelinda, virgin of Meldert
Saint Ermelinda, virgin of Meldert, lived in the 6th century in present-day Belgium. She devoted her life entirely to God, rejecting marriage in order to live a life of prayer and charity. Ermelinda became known for her piety, humility, and generosity toward the poor. A hermitage grew at the place of her grave in Meldert, where miracles were reported through her intercession.
