Saint Didacus
Saint Didacus of Alcalá (San Diego de Alcalá) was a Spanish Franciscan lay brother known for his humility, charity, and miraculous healings. He served as a missionary in the Canary Islands before retiring to a life of prayer in Alcalá de Henares. He is especially venerated in Spanish-speaking countries and is the origin of the name for the city of San Diego, California. His life is a testament to the virtues of simplicity and selfless care for the sick and poor.
