Saint Cassian, martyr of Tangier
Saint Cassian, martyr of Tangier, was a court secretary in Tangier (in present-day Morocco) during the early fourth century. He was a Christian who resigned his post rather than enforce the persecution of fellow Christians. For his steadfast faith, he was arrested, tortured, and beheaded around the year 298. His courage and witness have inspired devotion, especially in North Africa and Spain.
