Saint Mary, the Immaculate Conception

Saint Mary, venerated as the Immaculate Conception, is the mother of Jesus Christ, whom Catholics believe was conceived without original sin. She occupies a unique and exalted role in salvation history as the Theotokos (God-bearer). Through her unwavering faith and obedience, she became the model disciple. Her sinless conception is a singular grace granted by God in view of Christ's merits.
