Emmanuel

Emmanuel

Emmanuel, meaning 'God with us,' is a title used for Jesus Christ in Christian tradition, especially during Advent and Christmas. Though not a saint in the usual sense, Jesus under the title Emmanuel is celebrated and honored in the Catholic Church. He is the central figure of Christianity, the Son of God who became incarnate to bring salvation to the world. The name Emmanuel appears in Scripture and has been venerated throughout Christian history.
