Anastasia of Sirmium
St. Anastasia was a Christian martyr who lived in the 3rd century AD in Sirmium (modern-day Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia). She was known for her piety and courage in the face of persecution. Anastasia was arrested and tortured for her faith, and ultimately executed by beheading on December 25th. She is venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church, and her feast day is celebrated on the anniversary of her martyrdom. Anastasia is the patron saint of pharmacists, apothecaries, and poisoning victims.
