Saint Eugenia
Saint Eugenia was a Christian martyr of the 3rd century, venerated especially in the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches. She was the daughter of a nobleman, fled her home in Alexandria, and disguised herself as a man to live in a men’s monastery. Her virtue and commitment to chastity led to her exposure and persecution. Accused unjustly, she was ultimately martyred during the reign of Emperor Valerian. Saint Eugenia is honored as a model of faith, chastity, and courage.
