Saint Gregory, bishop of Nazianzus
Saint Gregory, bishop of Nazianzus, is known as Gregory Nazianzen. He was one of the most important theologians of the fourth century and played a major role in the development of Trinitarian doctrine. He was a close friend of Saint Basil the Great and contributed greatly to the Second Ecumenical Council of Constantinople. Gregory's orations and writings are highly esteemed in both Eastern and Western Christian traditions.
