Saint Severinus of Noricum
St. Severin (c. 410 - 482 AD) was a Christian saint and abbott who is known as the "Apostle of Norico." He was born in Pannonia (modern-day Hungary) and traveled extensively throughout the Danubian provinces, establishing monasteries and converting many to Christianity. Severin is renowned for his piety, miracles, and advocacy for the poor and oppressed. He is considered the patron saint of Austria and is venerated for his efforts to maintain peace and provide charitable aid during the decline of the Western Roman Empire.
