Bd Pope Gregory X

Blessed Pope Gregory X (c. 1210 - 1276) was a Catholic pope who served from 1271 to 1276. He was born Teobaldo Visconti in Piacenza, Italy. As pope, he convened the Second Council of Lyon, which sought to reunite the Eastern and Western churches. He is remembered for his efforts to promote peace and reform the Church. Gregory X is venerated for his holiness, wisdom, and commitment to Christian unity. He is the patron saint of Piacenza.
