St. Emerenziana, Roman Martyr

St. Emerenziana was a Roman martyr who lived in the 4th century AD. She was a close friend and companion of St. Agnes, and was killed for her Christian faith shortly after Agnes' martyrdom. Emerenziana was stoned to death while praying at Agnes' tomb, refusing to renounce her belief in Christ. She is honored as a saint and martyr of the early Church, and is the patron saint of stepchildren.
