St. Angela of the Cross, Virgin

St. Angela of the Cross (1846-1932) was a Spanish Roman Catholic nun and the founder of the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Born in Seville, she dedicated her life to caring for the poor and sick, and established numerous schools and hospitals throughout Spain. She is venerated for her devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and her tireless work to alleviate the suffering of the less fortunate. St. Angela of the Cross is the patron saint of nurses and the sick.
