Saint Colette

Saint Colette

St. Colette Boylet (1381-1447) was a French Franciscan nun and foundress of the Poor Clares. Born in Corbie, northern France, she felt called to a life of piety and prayer from a young age. Colette entered the Franciscan Order and later founded several convents of the Poor Clares, a strict observance of the Franciscan rule. She is venerated for her devotion to Christ and the Virgin Mary, as well as for her efforts to reform and revitalize the Franciscan Order. St. Colette is the patron saint of unmarried women, wheelchair users, and those in need of employment.
